I Showed up to the Internet Early
When I started in web design, everything was coded by hand. No shortcuts. No templates. Just code talking to design, design talking to code, and me somewhere in the middle, fascinated by the intersection of design, marketing, and tech.
I taught myself to code because I wanted to understand both sides. In the industry, they call that being a unicorn. It is how my brain works.
I Left a Seemingly “Amazing” Job Because I Needed to Matter
I worked for several companies, including Qualcomm. Good money. Stable. Everything a career “should” look like.
But I couldn’t see my impact. It felt hollow and unstimulating to be a tiny part of a massive machine.
So I left.
The Business Grew Toward Me
A few months later, an agency I had worked at called with a complex, multi-year project. I said yes. Then another client called. Then another asked for more than I knew how to give – so I learned more. CRMs. Marketing strategy. How to find the right accountant and support. How to help a small business actually grow.
That was 16 years ago.
The business didn’t happen all at once. It grew toward me.
Then I Became a Yoga Teacher
In 2019, I became a yoga teacher.
I thought it was a separate thing, but it isn’t.
Post-COVID, I started noticing how anxious and burned out people were. So I brought that part of me into my work too. Sometimes we pause before a meeting. Sometimes we take a breath first. If it feels right, we can begin with a small prayer. I check in on the whole picture of you and your organization. I know that when I work with you, everything is connected.
I’m In This For You
My clients don’t just get a website. They get a different way of doing business together.
When a client tells me they wouldn’t have a business without me, that’s why I do this. When someone sends a note that says, “I am SO happy,” that’s the whole point.
I left a financially better job because I needed to matter. To see my impact. To know I was making a difference.
That need never went away. It just found the right home.
I am a Small Business Doula
I show up at the beginning when everything feels scary and uncertain. I’ve seen it before. I help you get through the hard part and come out the other side with something real.
That’s the work I love. That’s why I’m here.
I started in San Diego. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest – hiking, kayaking, gardening, getting lost in books.
There’s a whole story in that move. One about listening to what isn’t working anymore and being willing to try a new direction.
Sound familiar?
Now tell me yours.
